Catherine Zeta-Jones shares heartwarming birthday tribute to son Dylan (2024)

Catherine Zeta-Jonesmarked her son DylanDouglas's 24th birthday by sharing a heartfelt tribute and never-before-seen footage from his childhood.

On Thursday, the 54-year-old Oscar winner uploaded ahome video to her Instagram account that showed her fawning over her eldest child when he was just a baby boy.

'Happy 24th Birthday to my son @dylan__douglas,' she captioned the post. 'The joy and love you give me every day is insurmountable. To be your Mama is a gift that I never take for granted. I love you my beautiful boy. ♥️'

In the recording, taken when Zeta-Jones was 30, she can be seen staring adoringly at her then-newborn, who was laying on a bathroom counter on top of a fluffy white towel.

Despite the inevitable sleepless nights that all first-time mothers endure,Zeta-Jones looked well-rested and joyful as her little one reached toward her and kicked his feet in the air.

On her Instagram Story, she also shared a black and white photo of Dylan with his dad Michael Douglas, who she wed in 2000.

'The best production we have ever been involved in,' she gushed. 'Dylan thinks Wall Street tops it! I'm on the fence [laughing emoji].'

Michael also took to social media to mark his son's birthday.

'Wow @dylan__douglas! 24! You’re moving fast my son! Wishing you a very happy birthday from a proud father!' he wrote on Instagram.

In addition to Dylan,Zeta-Jones andMichael also share daughter, Carys, 21.

Michael shares his eldest child, a son named Cameron, 45, with his ex-wife, Diandra Luker.

OnCarys' birthday in April,Zeta-Jones described their daughter as 'the most incredible woman' and said she cherishes being her mom 'every day.'

Earlier this year, Michael joked that he and his wife bribe their adult children with 'lavish' trips to secure family time since they both moved out.

'Catherine and I are blessed with the fact that our kids Dylan and Carys still like to travel with us,' he joked on Today. 'And so we just finished five weeks in India at Christmastime. And we're always planning next year, what our trips will be and where we'll go.'

He noted it's a 'treat' to spend time with his children 'especially when you're not forcing them.'

'[I] said, 'Catherine, look, they actually want to hang out with us. I said, "You know, it's good." But we've got good trips. We seduce them with good places to go,' he mused.

Last summer, the family vacationed in Capri and stayed on a yacht.

In 2022, Zeta-Jones told People that her family is happy.

'Both my daughter and Dylan have been so incredibly supportive to me, not just as an actor, but just me, you know. I'm extremely blessed to be able to have both of them in my life,' she said.

Michael and Catherine got married in New York City in year 2000.

In 2001, Zeta-Jones recalled how they first met at the Deauville Film Festival to Larry King.

'I had been told Michael Douglas wanted to meet me. I was a little nervous because I didn't quite know what he wanted to meet me about.'

At the time, Douglas was promoting A Perfect Murder and Zeta-Jones was promoting The Mask of Zorro, which were both released in 1998.

Their friends Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith - who used to be married - introduced the actors at a private dinner.

Michael asked Catherine if he could sit next to her.

He famously told her he was going to be the father of her children which shocked her, she has said, and he sent her flowers soon after to apologize.

They started a friendship.

'Nine months later, I'm still having long conversations with him on the phone, having great dinner dates, constantly wondering, "Why are we not together?"' she told King.

'We looked at each other one day and said, "We're having a lot of fun together,"' she said.

Douglas proposed to Zeta-Jones at his Aspen home on New Year's Eve in 1999 with a $1 million diamond ring.

'Both of us were sick as dogs because we had [the] flu,' he told ITV's Ross King in 2016.
